Pretty happy with that.

I am starting to run a bit. Not much. Need to work into it slowly! Kinda throwing my old plan out the window. lol Now if I could just keep my calories in check I could start losing some weight. I do well during the day, but once evening hits, it's out the window.

Feeling great!!

I'm way off track when it comes to my diet.  At least on the weekends.  I do feel I am making progress though.  That is all that matters.  My clothes are fitting looser.

First (and second) workout felt great!

I was able to get on last night.  Felt really good to get back into it again.  I hate it when I fall off.

One thing about the treadmill, it is European so it is all metric.  No worries.

Last night: 65min, 5.25km, 405cal.

Today: 65min, 5.25km, 432cal.

Not sure how I got more calories today.  Same everything.  My heart must have been beating faster?  I should say that I did get a new heart rate monitor.  Same brand and model that I had before.  No GPS, but as I'm just inside anyway it doesn't matter.



So, my goals:

  • Get on the treadmill for at least 30 minutes 5 times a week.  Sixty minutes is my ultimate goal, but I know it won't always be possible with 4 kids!
  • Start running after I've gotten down to 175.  Twenty pounds from where I am today.
  • Get down to 150lbs by March first.



I know it's extremely ambitious, but there is a half marathon on 30 March.  That would be super cool if I could run in it.

I got a treadmill today!!!

I am so super excited!  I've been extremely lax since we moved.  I've gained quite a bit of weight.  Got the treadmill and put it together.  Haven't actually done a real workout on yet.  I am hoping I can after dinner, but I really don't know.  My husband has to work tonight, so he's sleeping.  I will definitely be on tomorrow during the baby's nap!!  So excited!

In Germany now.

We moved to Germany a week or so ago.  I've been walking a lot, exploring our new village.  I finally went for a run through the forest today.  I don't know for how long, or far, my heart-rate monitor didn't survive the trip across the ocean.  I sure hope it's just the battery and nothing is wrong with it.  I don't want to have to buy a new one.  Although getting one with GPS would be super-cool-awesome!  I do plan on starting a 30 day squat and ab challenge.  I'll see if I can attach images. http://spacelifethoughts.com/PICS/30daysquathalf.jpg  That is the squat one, mostly.  It has a red X on the first 15 days.  I have the other image already saved to my iPod.  I couldn't find it on a quick Google search.  Here's the abs one: http://pipersrun.files.wordpress.com/2013/05/may-challenge-30-day-ab-challenge.jpg  My husband is helping me, even the kids are joining in!  I did day one today, and will again tomorrow, rest the 31st and start into the challenges on 1 June.  I may look for an arm/push-up challenge as well.  But I don't want to take on to much at once, either.

Wednesday: 28min, 2.28mi, estimated 328cal. It was to dark by the time Precious calmed down for me to run outside. Went to the gym. I also couldn't fine the chest strap for my hear rate monitor, so I'm just going off what the treadmill said.

Today: 27min, 2.2mi, 335cal. Outside, found my chest strap! 3 min faster than my first run. That's impressive!! :)

Went for a run

Last night, after dinner.  2.2 miles, took me almost exactly 30min.  After not running in over a year I am quite happy with myself.  I wanted to go again tonight but my 6 year old has her kindergarten music program.  I feel ok.  My legs are a big sore today.  Hopefully I can go again tomorrow.  There is a half marathon on 5 May here.  I don't know if I'll be ready for all that, but I do believe there is also a 5k.  Wish there was a 10k.

Fell off the planet, again

My husband is active duty military.  He got orders.  We move in May.  All of my time is used up with kids and sorting through 7 years worth of stuff!  I do floor stuff every couple of hours (crunches, bicycle crunches, push-ups) and trying to keep my diet in check.  Hopefully things will calm down in a bit and I can start running in the evenings at least.  I don't know when I'll be able to get back onto a normal schedule.  But what is normal!?!  Maybe I should start a new blog about the move?

I did lose 5 inches off my waist in January, and lost 5 lbs.  I'm good with that.  I am able to fit into my size 14 jeans.  They are snug in the waist and I have a muffin top, but the legs are loose!  Maybe by March or April they will fit better.

Starting again

I did the Wii Fit today.  I don't know when I'll get to start back at the gym.  It's cold and we're having car trouble.  I have an older copy of Wii Fit.  I know there is a new one out that has more stuff.  Maybe if I can keep with this long enough I can get the new one.  I'd also like to get some wrist and ankle weights to add a bit of resistance to the strength and yoga training.  I haven't really made up a plan yet, just trying to make sure I can get on it every day.  I did a little bit last night, and 39 min this morning.  My goal is 30 min a day.  Precious was being good, so I was able to continue a bit longer.  I've also started tracking my food intake with My Fitness Pal again.  I'll have to see if I can add a link.  I feel good.  I need a shower currently, but life is going well.  No baby blues yet.  Mine doesn't usually hit until 4-5 months.  Hopefully working out will be a preemptive against getting it at all!!! :)
