She's here!
She was born on 16 October. I was going to start walking by now, but I just haven't had time. Lots of things going on, not just a new baby. I have started some weights at home, when I think of them. I had lost all of my pregnancy weight, but I'm starting to gain it back bit by bit. To many holiday goodies!!

Chugging Along
Still pregnant. Getting to the super uncomfortable part. Still have a few weeks left, but it does seem to be going fast. There is part of me that wants her to stay in forever. Right now I don't have to share her. I can't. But once she's out everyone is going to want to snuggle and play with her. As long as I am able to breastfeed I will still get some alone time with her!

It's a GIRL!!
Our third. My husband was in shock for a bit. He's excited. He loves his daughters. But to many beautiful girls are a bit stressful for a dad! Our son is really excited about another sister. He gets to be Daddy's favorite boy for a little longer!

Still here
Still pregnant. I thought I was starting to feel better, but then it all hits me again. Good days then bad days. I don't know when I'll get to start going back to the gym again. I haven't gained any weight yet. Not really hungry either!

a bit of a hiatus.
It turns out I'm pregnant! Which is why it was so hard to go to the gym and I felt like crap. I'm 10 weeks now, and starting to feel a little better. I'm hoping to start going to the gym again soon.
It was quite shocking. We've been trying for about half a year, but my cycles are all wonky and I had only ovulated like twice. I had an appt set up for 5 March with an infertility doctor. That ended up being my first OB appt.

New Routine

I'm incline-walking for about 40/45min, jogging til the full 60, then the machine goes into an automatic cool down. I'll increase the jogging time by a min or so each week. I don't think I have compartment syndrome, I'm just really bad at overdoing it I think. I am stretching when I'm done now. I know that helps a lot. :)

Driven Sports Craze

So someone my husband works with is raving about this Craze stuff from Driven Sports. I was curious so we bought some. I took half a dose the other day, in the afternoon, it seemed to make me sleepy. Could be that I was just sitting on my butt, although some other energy drinks make me sleepy as well. I took a full dose this morning about an hour before heading out to the gym. It seemed to help. I feel great now. A little jittery, but no rapid heart rate.
My run was good. My calves don't hurt. I did the treadmill at a 0% incline. My calf pain really started when I started running outside or on the treadmill with an incline. So back to square one we go. Lots of stretching afterwards, and I'll continue to stretch all day. I can't go to the gym tomorrow morning, I'm taking our dog to the vet, but I may be able to go out tomorrow after dinner. I know, I know, I'm supposed to be taking it easy. And I did. I took a full 8 days off. I didn't go super fast today, kept it slow, had a 10min walking warm up.

Trip to the doctor
I made an appt for my calf pain. He did some poking and prodding and said that it might be compartment syndrome. Compartment syndrome is a serious condition that involves increased pressure in a muscle compartment. It can lead to muscle and nerve damage and problems with blood flow. He started me on some NSAIDs, told me to halve my distance, warm up longer, stretch more and only go 2-3x a week instead of 5 like I should be. So far I haven't gone since Saturday and I'm still in pain. He's hoping that I'm just over doing it and need to cut back and add mileage much slower. If I'm not feeling better in 2 weeks I have to make another appt for a compartment syndrome test. I'm sad today. I want to run and I've been told I can't. BLAH!!!

Calf pain is murder

I was supposed to go 6 miles, but my calves were really murdering me. It was worse when I'd try walking. I did a bit of research when I got home. I need compression socks. I have a pair that I wore when I was pregnant with my son (who's now 3). I found them and put them on after my shower. I started feeling better right away. To buy super-duper athletic compression socks is crazy expensive; I think anyway. So I'm going to go back to Walgreens and get the diabetic ones, which is what I currently have.

Second Group Run

I finally made it to another group run. I finished last. I still ran the whole 4 miles. Never stopped to walk. Although I did have to stop at the lights twice, for a total of about 3 min. I hate crossing against the light. Tomorrow is supposed to be a day of rest, but I'm going to the gym for my incline-walking. Friday I have to do 3 miles, then Saturday is 6. I may just die on Saturday! Group run on Saturdays starts at 7:30 on the other end of town. I'll have to leave the house at 7. I'm not usually even up that early! I really want to go though. Running 6 miles is so much harder by yourself.

I got really sick for a while. Bronchitis, sinus infection and an ear infection. Once I was on the mend my kids got sick. They're back at school and I'm back in the gym. YAY. Double work out today, but I still feel fantastic. We'll see how fantastic I feel in the morning.
I got the wrong protein powder. I usually get the whey, but I accidentally grabbed soy. Not as much protein and a lot more carbs. It's a small canister, so it will go quickly. I'll pay more attention next time.
I've just realized that I've forgotten to get my December totals. Wow, it has been a rough month.

Group Run

I signed up for group training at a local shoe store. When I went in to get my new shoes (yes I finally got them!) they had this thing going. Here's the link: http://gorunwichita.com/start2finish/ We had our first group run today. They will be every Wednesday and Saturday. I will miss this Saturday, as I'm going out of town, but my run today was amazing! Just under 2 miles in 20-ish min. My heart rate monitor said my average heart rate was 169. I am very proud of that. It was fun running with other people. I've never gone on a group run before. I can't wait for another!
